Russian State University named after A.N. Kosygin (Technologies. Design. Art)

It is one of the oldest Russian higher education institutions for training of specialists in the area of light industry. The foundation stone was laid at the Russian Chemistry and Technology University named after D.I. Mendeleev upon setting up of the Academic Chair of Leather Goods Technology. In 1937, the institute was changed into Moscow Technology Institute of Light Industry. In 1999, the Design Institute was added to the university. In 2002, it was renamed into Moscow State University of Design and Technology.

Besides, in 2012, Moscow Textile University amalgamated with the university, and two large Russian educational centers started cooperation to train students and specialists in such areas as clothing design, stage design and industrial design. In the recent years, at the university there studied the prominent designers, who currently work in the Russian fashion industry.

Five dormitories of the university, which are located near the main building, are ready to accommodate students from other Russian cities and foreign students.

At present, Professor Valeriy Belgorodskyi runs Russian State University named after A.N. Kosygin.
