Research areas of Bashkir State University

At Bashkir State University, the research is focused on four disciplines: natural sciences, technical sciences, social sciences and humanities, and 18 scientific directions. At present, at the university there work 15 scientific faculties in the main directions: natural sciences and humanities.

The fundamental research is conducted in close cooperation with scientific institutes of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Scientific Center of the Russian Academy in Ufa.

Bashkir State University has eight successful scientific and educational centers, including the Scientific and Educational Center of Chemistry (together with the Institute of Organic Chemistry under the egis of the Russian Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Ufa) and the Institute of Chemistry and Physics (Chernogolovka); the Scientific and Educational Center for Nanomaterials (together with the Institute of Super Plastics under the egis of the Russian Academy of Sciences); the Scientific and Educational Center “Priority Area of the Technology of Living Systems” in cooperation with the Institute of Biochemistry and Genetics under the egis of the Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences and other similar institutes.

At the university, there work six main academic chairs under the guidance of the scientific institutes of the Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan, as well as Bash Industrial Park and the Centers of the Earth Information Systems, Geophysics, Technical Chemistry, Environment and Natural Resources. There are centers of legal and technical assessment.

The scientific activities are an integral part of the process of professional training. The students participate in the research and development projects financed from the federal budget. Besides, there are educational and scientific complexes, which work based on the university’s academic chairs and faculties, and their goal is carrying out of the most advanced scientific and technical developments and their implementation in the training process.
