Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry named after A.I. Yevdokimov (Semashko)

The Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry (named after Semashko) is deemed one of the most important educational centers in Russia and one of the largest universities in Europe in the area of dentistry, as well as one of the most important Russian universities in the area of medicine.

The Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry (named after Semashko) is a leading educational center for training of doctors and specialists in the area of dentistry in Russia, as well as one of the largest universities in Europe in the area of medicine and dentistry.

This university started its work in 1922 under the name of “the Moscow Institute of Dental Care”. In 1932, this university was renamed into “the State Research Institute” and for many years was responsible for training of many specialists from various regions of Russia and parts of the world. In 1974, this university was named in honor of the famous Russian doctor and one of the founders of the healthcare and medicine system of Russia – Nikolay Semashko. Finally, in 2012, the university was renamed in honor of the famous Russian dentist Aleksandr Yevdokimov.

The university comprises a specialized dental clinic, a specialized health clinic, a large library of the university (established in 1926) and three dormitories for Russian and foreign students. At present, on 10 faculties of the university there study around 8,000 students from various regions of Russia and other countries of the world. Besides, at the university there work around 1,600 lecturers, many of whom are well-known specialists and doctors in Russia. Furthermore, at present, Doctor Oleg Yanushevich is the Rector of the Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry named after A.I. Yevdokimov.
