Moscow Technical University of Communication and Informatics

Moscow Technical University of Communication and Informatics is one of the most important higher education institutions in Russia in the area of communication, information technologies, which has a good reputation at the international scale.

The university was founded in 1921 by decree of the Chief Directorate of Professional Education and the Board of the People’s Commissariat of Post Offices and Telegraph Services, which initially began its work at the electric and technical facility named after Podbelskiy, and in 1946 it was renamed into Moscow Electric and Technical Institute of People’s Communication.

Today, Moscow Technical University of Communication and Informatics is one of the largest Russian higher education universities for training of specialists in information technologies and communication. At present, around 15,000 students from Russia and around 40 students from other countries of the world study on 7 faculties with majors in 40 educational programs of this university. Besides, around 700 lecturers and employees teach students and work at the university.

At present, Moscow Technical University of Communication and Informatics is a representative of the European Society for Engineering Education (SEFI) and is actively engaged in European conferences and seminars, which relate to higher education and are held by the SEFI. The university is also a representative of the Association of International Departments of Technical Universities of the countries of Eastern and Central Europe (AoID). At the university there are also learning laboratories of NEC (Japan), Motorola (the USA), Cisco (the USA), etc.

Moscow Technical University of Communication and Informatics ranks 13^th among Russian engineering and technical higher education institutions.

At present, Sergey Yerokhin is the Rector of this university.

The university has two buildings in the east and the north-west of Moscow, and the university’s dormitories are located near those two buildings.
