Plekhanov Russian University of Economics

It is one of the most important universities in the area of economics and business education in Russia.

Plekhanov Russian University of Economics is the largest and oldest university in the Russian economy founded in 1907. For over 100 years, it has been closely connected with the national economy of Russia. At the beginning of the 20^th century, among the university’s achievements one can mention development of economic sciences in Russia, formation of economic statistics and government planning, economic reforms during 1965-1970, macroeconomic and industry research in 1980s, strengthening of the cooperation movement in formation and promotion of the market in 1990s, development of the trade and the technology of production of food products.

In 2010, the university was renamed into Russian University of Economics and in 2015, Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics was added to it. At present, the training of students is organized and held as per the wide range of scientific programs, from secondary education to training of students, postgraduates and doctoral candidates in Moscow in 26 branches of the university in cities of the Russian Federation and abroad.

In general, around 80,000 students study in the main building in Moscow (26,000 persons) and its branches in various regions of Russia on 14 faculties, among whom there are 600 foreign students from 40 other countries of the world. Besides, around 4,800 lecturers teach students in the main building and branches of the university.

Plekhanov Russian University of Economics is among the 10 best universities in Russia according to the QS ranking and the first 10 best universities in the world. It is also ranked among 22 universities of the world, which hold 4 stars as per the QS ranking system.

Three dormitories of the university, which are ones of the best dormitories for students in Russia, are fitted with all the amenities and are ready to accommodate Russian and foreign students. At present, the university is run by Professor Viktor Grishin.
